BHP Bloom Mill Soaking Pits - Project No: 96526

Demolition & asbestos removal. Bloom mill soaking pits. BHP steelworks, Newcastle, NSW

Soaking pits' external structure prior to demolition. This structure supports gas pipelines of up to 2 meters in diameter containing hazardous residues.  
Soaking pits' internal structures that consisted of heavy steel frames with 1 meter thick refractory lining. Structures also contained lid removal cars over the pits and underlining asbestos blankets.
